As you prepare for, and work your way through, one of the most difficult times of your life, you will benefit from our firm’s long tradition of skill in civil litigation and our knowledge of legal issues that often arise in complex divorces, such as bankruptcy, insurance and business ownership.
Family law attorneys Jon Schneider and Maria Lomeli and paralegal Rhonda Chatman assist clients in divorce, legal separation and post-decree matters, including collection of child support and spousal maintenance, unpaid debts and taxes, modification of child support and spousal maintenance, and changes to legal decision making and visitation orders.
Our divorce-related services in family law include:
- Legal separation
- Legal decision-making (formerly known as “child custody”)
- Child support
- Dependency hearings in Juvenile Court
- Spousal maintenance or alimony (see how the 2017 federal tax law will affect spousal maintenance payments
starting in 2019)
- Grandparent and non-parent rights
- Property settlement
- Allocation of debts and taxes
- Division of retirement assets
- Adoption and severance of parental rights
We understand the emotional drain of litigation and potential negative results that can ensue. To that end, our attorneys assist clients with settlement and alternative dispute resolution, when appropriate, to avoid the time and expense of litigation.
